Program Introduction

Project Introduction

Experience a month in the ancient city of Kyoto, where the past and present of Japan coexist in a serene setting. This project offers Japanese language classes and a variety of cultural activities, ensuring that every day is enjoyable and enriching. Discover the varied charms of Kyoto daily and create unforgettable memories.

1. Experience the beauty of Japan's charm throughout the four seasons!

Kyoto is a city where you can enjoy the full spectrum of Japan's four distinct seasons: the vibrant flowers of spring, the hot summer sun, the colorful foliage of autumn, and the pure white snow of winter. Many people visit Kyoto to experience its unique charm throughout the seasons. Start your month-long stay in Kyoto and experience its seasonal beauty.

This program includes learning traditional Japanese drums and martial arts, making sweet Japanese confectioneries, and participating in tea ceremonies and meditation sessions to find inner peace. Additionally, you'll enjoy a variety of activities such as learning flower arranging, visiting popular food spots, and viewing cherry blossoms and autumn leaves, all designed to let you fully enjoy the beauty of Japan. Activities shared with friends from around the world will enrich your everyday life in Japan.

* Activities may vary depending on the time of participation.

2. Take some time to discover Kyoto, where Japan's history and traditions are vividly preserved!

Although Tokyo is Japan's current capital, Kyoto was the capital for over a thousand years. As a city that grew as Japan's center for a millennium, Kyoto now stands as a living testament to its long history and culture, making the entire city akin to a museum. You can easily encounter various historical remnants, including UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Discover a new Kyoto every day in your daily life in this thousand-year-old city. It will be a special time to explore the many facets of Japan that you didn't know before.

3. You can quickly improve your language skills while mingling with friends from around the world.

The project site includes a community space for international participants, where you can easily meet friends from various countries. Together, you will study and engage in various activities, growing alongside each other.

In addition to making foreign friends, there are also many opportunities to interact with local Japanese people. Use the Japanese you've learned in class to converse with Japanese friends. By using Japanese in real-life situations, you'll experience rapid improvement in your language skills.

Accommodation

Accommodation Introduction

* This photo is provided as an example for understanding and may vary depending on local conditions.

Accommodation is an additional option. We offer a variety of accommodations such as homestays, share houses, and private apartments to match participants' preferences and budgets. Choose the accommodation that best suits you!

* Participants who choose to add accommodation options will be provided with an airport pickup service (one-way) to ensure safe transfer from the airport to the accommodation.

Homestay

A homestay involves living with a host family in a Japanese household located in Kyoto city or its suburbs, allowing you to experience Japanese daily life. The families are carefully vetted by the school, and we match you with a host family that suits your preferences and tastes. This provides a chance to experience real Japanese culture that you can't learn in class and gain a deeper understanding. Since you'll be living in a real Japanese home, adhering to the family's rules and manners will lead to a more enjoyable experience.

You'll be assigned a private room with basic furniture, sharing the bathroom and living room. Internet access varies by household, and you'll enjoy Japanese home-cooked meals prepared by the host family every morning and evening. The distance from the school is about 30-60 minutes by public transportation.

Share House

A share house is a space where you can meet friends from around the world as well as Japanese students and working professionals. It's recommended for those who want to socialize and make friends while maintaining independence. You’ll have a private room but will share the living room, kitchen, and bathroom. Wi-Fi and basic household appliances are provided, and you can cook freely in the kitchen.

We'll connect you with a share house that matches your preferences and location among the various options in Kyoto city. The distance from the school is about 20 minutes to 1 hour by public transportation.

Since it’s a shared living arrangement, following house rules and manners with housemates will help create a more enjoyable experience in Japan!

* Share house accommodation is available for a minimum of 30 nights. Recommended for those staying for 4 weeks or more.

Private Apartment

This type of accommodation is recommended for those who want their own space. It comes with basic furniture and appliances, and you can cook freely in the kitchen. Be aware that if any damage occurs to the apartment's property, you may be responsible for repair and cleaning costs, so please use the apartment carefully.

The apartment is located about 20-30 minutes from the school by walking or public transportation.

* Homestay and share house accommodations are based on check-in on Sundays and check-out on Saturdays. Additional days will incur extra costs. For additional accommodation, please inquire separately.
